About This Spot

Stepping into Mareal, nestled quietly on Av. Daniel Ortúzar in Pichilemu, feels like entering a gentle celebration of the sea and its bounty. There’s an ease here, a tempo that invites you to pause and savor without rush. The light filters softly through the windows, mingling with the warm hum of friendly conversations and the subtle clink of glassware, setting a tone that’s both relaxed and thoughtfully curated.

At its heart, Mareal is a place where the ocean’s freshness is honored with creativity and care. The kitchen’s approach goes beyond tradition — familiar coastal flavors are woven with unexpected global touches, creating dishes that feel both precise and personal. Whether it’s the way homemade pasta carries the delicate embrace of fish, or how a simple toast can become a memorable bite, each plate tells a story. Ambient spices and textures add layers without overshadowing the local seafood’s quiet, natural charm.

The experience lingers not just in the food, but in the welcoming spirit of this spot. The staff’s warmth feels genuine, making every visit a conversation rather than a transaction. This openness invites guests to return, to discover new favorites alongside familiar ones, and to share meals that echo the thoughtful rhythm of the place itself.

Mareal quietly holds a special place in Pichilemu’s culinary landscape — a spot where creativity is balanced with respect for local ingredients, and where the mood stays thoughtfully easy, encouraging you to simply enjoy the moment.

Very tasty food and excellent service. The fish burgers and miso noodlws are gorgeous. Fairly priced. Would recommend as dinner/lunch spot.

A must if you find yourself in Pichilemu! The chef has created a stunning menu. He has hired a very personable staff. You can’t go wrong. We had to go back one more time before heading back to the states. Be sure to leave room for dessert

A real culinary pearl! No wonder it got all the attention deserved, recently in NYtimes! We went two days in a row, tried a number of dishes, all was amazing! Gustavo is really creative yet careful with his dish compositions, when he marries Chilean classic dishes with some international ingredients as shichimi, Tandoori and XO sauce - he does that without overpowering the local delicate seafood! The result is simply stunning! My favourite was baked crispy potato cake and fresh creamy seafood - a trully successful combo! Another dish is the toast with crab meat and also his version of a ceviche, probably the best I tried in Chile. Portions are big, the prices reasonable, very sweet and pro stuff and the music mix is great! What else to wish?! Go before it will become overbooked.

Everything we ordered was delicious and very well crafted. The service was amazing as well! Definitely the best meal I had in Pichilemu and one of the best I had while visiting Chile!

While visiting my daughter and new granddaughter in Pichilemu this week, we met Chef Gustavo Moreno ... the owner of Mareal. He proudly explained how every item on the menu contains fish and that he makes creative things. We enjoyed 2 fish burgers that were delicious, and also the UDÓN Lo Mein .. a homemade pasta with fish and sautéed vegetables that was delightful!. We finished by devouring the CORNFLAKE ice cream and TARTA VASCA .. a cheesecake covered with a fruit compote .. both pictured. If you are in, or near, Pichilemu, we highly recommend that dine at Mareal and say hi to Chef Gustavo. Pedro, our waiter, was also fantastic! Thank you!! P.S. The PISCO SOUR was terrific!!!
